I don’t believe it’s trivializing a mental health condition to say people with that condition can be happy. As discussed above, people can experience real impairments from a condition and still lead fulfilling lives. The main point of this article was reporting several scientific studies finding that despite their impairments, patients with schizophrenia reported similar levels of happiness overall. If there are aspects of the studies’ designs that lead you to believe the studies are methodologically flawed or not representative in terms of their results, I’d be interested to hear your perspective, but I’m not sure what it means to just say the results of a scientific study are “not true.”
