This online text-based course is based on the most recent (2018) guidelines developed by the American Psychological Association for clinical supervision in health service psychology. It introduces the learner to clinical supervision in health service psychology and discusses the seven domains and 29 guidelines. The course concludes with an extensive list of references as well as definitions of key terms related to supervision in health service psychology.

Audience and Course Level: This course is appropriate for Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Social Workers, and Marriage and Family Therapists who perform or plan to perform clinical supervision in health service psychology and related professions. The course level is considered introductory since it introduces the learner to the seven domains and 29 guidelines related to clinical supervision developed by the APA, and no prerequisite training is required.

Course Utility and Potential Risks/Conflicts: The utility of this course lies in helping clinical supervisors perform supervision that meets the standards provided by the American Psychological Association. The course does not include clinical training or certification. This course was developed initially for clinical supervisors at Antioch University Seattle.
